About the Owner – Jenny Horton
Jenny Horton is a small-town soul with a big heart, and it shows in everything she does. A lifelong member of the Philipsburg community, Jenny started as a waitress in nearby Clearfield, where she discovered her love for people and the joy that comes from serving others. That passion led her to open the Gaslight Café in 2002, a cozy spot many locals still remember. After running it for over a decade and later managing the Philipsburg Country Club, Jenny returned to the heart of downtown to open Poppy & Co.—a warm, inviting café where everyone feels like family. Whether it’s her mom greeting you at the door, the familiar faces behind the counter, or the homemade soups and Polish platters that remind you of Sunday dinners, Poppy & Co. has become a true gathering place.
During tough times like the pandemic, Jenny quietly stepped up, providing meals to those in need and supporting programs like Meals on Wheels. In 2024, she expanded with Cold Cuts & Co., a take-out hoagie shop next door, offering sandwiches named after local landmarks. Upstairs, she created The Loft, a private event space perfect for showers, parties, and small celebrations. Jenny’s work is rooted in love, community, and a deep pride for the town she calls home.
